The second global forum of “Against the Crime of Genocide” was also attended by Sait Çetinoglu, a human rights activist and scholar from Turkey. In an interview with the journalists, he mentioned that genocide is a shame for Turkey and they must be freed from this shame.
He also addressed the speech of the ethnic Armenian of Turkish MP, Garo Palyan, “I think what Garo Palyan did is very important, however, it was incomplete. There is a write by the name Sevan Nshanyan who is in prison for 2.5 years. He is transferred to solitary confinement from prison to prison. I think that now Nshanyan’s situation is not different from the situation in which were the intellectuals taken to an indefinite direction on April 24, 1915. I worry about the life of my friend.” Sait Çetinoglu also spoke about the Turkish government’s support for Azerbaijani aggression, noting that this is a politics, it takes the genocide beyond the state borders.
