The third Republic of Armenia was established on the basis of the ideology that it is possible to establish normal relations with Turkey, to resolve the Karabakh conflict peacefully and be am economic and cultural “busy intersection” in our region. Today, I am inclined to think that it was an illusion that I was also sharing. Moreover, when the Armenian-Turkish protocols were signed in 2009, I was among the minority who believed that it was a chance to normalize relations with Turkey. After the four-day war, it eventually became clear to me that I was mistaken.
Why did these hopes not become true? Because 1) we were not able to create a powerful state, 2) Turkey and Azerbaijan are reluctant to live with us side by side, they almost openly say, either go form this region or we will slaughter you, 3) Russia is not also interested to see peace in this region.
Very little depends on use to change the second and the third clauses, the first one totally depends on us. Not refusing the negotiations and seeking allies, we must establish such a state that the opponents would fear to attack. Incidentally, it is the point that we must fight once, throw them back and they will relax. We will have to prove our military, technical, economic and political advantages every day. As to what is necessary for it, it has been much talked about it.
