Political analyst Stepan Safaryan, referring to the president’s decrees of yesterday, by which three senior officials of the Ministry of Defense were dismissed, said that the president’s decrees surely can be associated with the 4-day war in April. In his words, it is a result of discussions and reviews that took place inside the government, “The posts occupied by these people already provide certain information on where the government authorities see the flaws and faults. After the four-day war in April, the answers to the questions of how is was not possible to know about the expected large-scale Blitzkrieg were not given. At that time, they were telling us that they had information that there is a mobilization but they did not know about the direction of the attack, which certainly was not convincing enough for us. The intelligence should be able to provide the main directions of the attack and so on. In addition, the argument that we knew of the attack but we did not know the direction is unconvincing. And naturally, we obviously have had a problem with the intelligence.”

The political analyst, speaking of the actions of the Armenian side as of yesterday, with which the Armenian armed forces have returned some of the positions lost in these 4-day war, said that the Armenian side’s patience is run out, as the enemy is constantly shelling the civilian residences every day, aiming to cleanse these territories from Armenians.
In Mr. Safaryan words, “Azerbaijan’s maximum goal was to capture some territories, around Karabakh if not. At the very first moments of the Blitzkrieg, the available situation enabled even to say that the rival-enemy hoped that a panic will start from the shelling, drones and so on, and the population will run away but Azerbaijan witnessed just the opposite, people were not afraid and did not run away. There were temporary evacuations, which is quite normal in the case of the current war. Closing the elderly, children and women in the conflict zone becomes meaningless during such hostilities and secondly, the mobilization of Armenia to go to Karabakh, the volunteer movement and quick passing to counterattack destroyed their plans.”
