This week, at the conference in Budapest, the Kosovo Football Federation, fighting for its independence and recognized by some countries, supplemented the ranks of UEFA member countries by the results of voting 28 pros, 24 cons, and 2 cancelled. The vote in which Armenia also took part passed in secret. Later on, Germany announced that it had voted in favor of Kosovo joining the UEFA. By the decision made in the fall by the European Chess Union, in the end of May, Kosovo will host the European Individual Chess Championship for men. Incidentally, the Kosovo Chess Federation accessed EaEU in the fall of last year. Aravot.am tried to clarify from the Chess Federation of Armenia and FFA about the position of the two federations in the vote of Kosovo’s accession to these two European sports unions, meaning that Armenia officially has not recognized Kosovo’s independence. Both federations replied that the vote was secret and they have no right or do not consider it appropriate to speak about their position.
