He said that he thinks that on June 2, the German Bundestag will approve the Armenian Genocide recognizing resolution, “I think that in any case, we will have the majority on this issue, this means that the resolution will be approved as appropriate. At the moment, negotiations are underway between the factions.
I can say that the term “genocide” will be included in the title, as well as the resolution will address the historical responsibility of the Kaiser Germany, also it is an important point that Germany will support the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey.” To the question of whether pressures are observed given the Turkish factor, Albert Weiler replied that there are already reactions from the Turkish side in connection with the resolution, “However, like the coalition parties, also the opposition Greens at announced at the level of leadership that in any case, it is going to happen on June 2.
