General Manvel Grigoryan again popped up in the center of the public attention. One of the officers of the Artsakh war, Vahan Badasyan, describes Manvel’s ugly, I would say the next nasty deed in Artsakh. Both in Armenia and in Artsakh, it seems to the General that if he is one of the representatives of the oligarchy, he must be given an out-of-turn way, a reverence and be glorified. Is not worthy of it. For the conduct that he has displayed since 1994 until now, definitely, he is not worthy of it. But by the information of Vahan Badasyan, Manvel has not fought with a weapon in his hand even though I another, a contradictory information about it, and I am confident in the reliability of my sources. Simply, there should be a distinct borderline between Manvel, who was courageously fighting in the war and impudent Manvel after the war, and no need to extend the features of the second Manvel over the first Manvel. Badasyan was also saying that Manvel was carrying some things to Etchmiadzin during the war, being honest, I believe it. Not only Manvel but also many other famous faces were possessing the trophy. They were even sometimes fighting with each other for it. Maybe you would not agree but, in my opinion, it does not undermine the military service of these people.
The entire problem is that if you are a hero, you bear a terrible responsibility and to manage it successfully you first of all should have a wit and secondly, such bravery that does not yield the courage to fight with the armed opponent. My grandfather, for example, passed the whole Great Patriotic War up to Berlin but in his autobiography, he wrote about it only in 4 lines, he was never talking about the war and was carrying the combat medals only when he had to go to meet an official to defend this or that person from injustice.
Manvel Grigoryan does not have the intellect and education to feel the heavy burden of being a war hero. Otherwise, he would have refused the general’s shoulder strap ( an ignorant person cannot be a general), the parliamentary mandate (for the same reason) and “businesses” (because an ignorant person cannot run a true business). On the other hand, the authorities should have been so moral and visionary after 1994 for not using the “Yerkrapahs” for political purposes and not giving their elite what they have not deserved.
Well, now imagine that some of our wonderful young people who have heroically defended our positions at the beginning of April become brazen and anti-heroes over the years. We must do everything not to allow such things happen.
