Russia’s State Duma Speaker’s advisor Mikhail Krotov is concerned that Armenia is an EaEU member bur there is a European Integration Committee at the National Assembly and nothing mentioning-reminding of the Eurasian Economic Union. The State Duma advisor raised this concern about this at the meeting with Armenian journalists hoping that they will reach “where it should be.” A delegation member, Head of the “Rights” holding, NA RPA faction MP Hayk Babukhanyan assured the Russian official that this issue will be solved after the upcoming parliamentary elections. Recently, a group of Armenian journalists visited Moscow under the “New Vision” program of mass media cooperation.

This was not only the concern of the Russian official. He and also the First Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Dzhabarov, were concerned about the big size of the US Embassy in Armenia. In response to Armenian reporters about the selling of weapons to Azerbaijan by Russian, reversals were often heard that Armenia enters into relations with EU and NATO and we do not rebel. Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the agreements reached in Vienna, the State Duma Speaker’s advisor Mikhail Krotov recalled the first war in Karabakh, the preparation and the signing of the ceasefire agreement. He also was a participant in this process.

He recalled that in 1994, Azerbaijan did not want to sign the agreement but “the Armenian army was near Ganja” and there was no alternative for Azerbaijan. At the end of the meeting, editor-in-chief of news and public-political programs of Ararat TV channel, Mihran Hakobyan, asked Mikhail Krotov, now what will you advise, to occupy Ganja?” Mr. Krotov smiled meaningly.
