Vice President of the Bundestag of Germany Edelgard Bulmahn visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial on May 24, accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov.
Bulmahn laid flowers and a wreath at the monument eternalizing the memory of the innocent victims. Afterwards Bulmahn toured the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and reviewed historic documents.
At the end of the visit Edelgard Bulmahn left a note in the Book of Honorable Guests.

Bulmahn said during a briefing: “I am impressed with my visit to the Museum and I share the pain for all suffering that the Armenian people have undergone during those years. I, as a representative of the Bundestag, shall also add the issue of Germany’s responsibility: our parliament is seeking to express its official position on the events and in that way prevent the repetition of similar crimes.”
