On May 30, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hagopian received Puerto Rican singer Daniel Decker, who is known for his unique love and compassion for Armenia and the Armenians and especially for his highly artistic performance of Ara Gevorgyan’s song “Adana”, which he has performed several times in Armenia and abroad.
Greeting the singer, Minister Hranush Hagopian asked about his plans and the purpose of his visit to Armenia.
“I love Armenia more and more every time I visit,” Daniel Decker said frankly, adding that he would like to continue to collaborate with Armenian singers and composers. He told the Minister that he had achieved great success with his album “Armenian By Choice” released in 2010 and is currently preparing to record new Armenian songs with Shushan Petrosian, Leyla Saribekian and other Armenian performers. The singer emphasized that this is his way of trying to express solidarity with the Armenian people and introduce the public at large to Armenian culture and history, as well as the issues concerning all Armenians.
Minister Hranush Hagopian expressed gratitude to Daniel Decker for his sincere dedication and emphasized that it is important to show the real qualities of the Armenian people through culture at a time when Azerbaijani officials are overtly making an anti-Armenian propaganda and instilling hatred.
During the conversation, the sides also discussed the opportunities to help the singer carry out his future plans.
