Today, at the National Assembly, ANC MP Nikol Pashinyan asked the Deputy Head of the National Security Service, Arzuman Harutyunyan, that he had repeatedly seen that photo of Felix Dzerzhinsky hanging on the walls in the offices of the National Security Service officials, “The problem is not whether it is good or bad, the problem is that there could be perception problems of the values system and service.” He asked Arzuman Harutyunyan whether now there are Dzerzhinsky’s photos in the offices or not, and if there are so whether it is a problem for you or not. Arzuman Harutyunyan assured that neither the bust nor the photo of the Soviet main “Cheka” exists in the offices, “It was a few years ago, now, I say that there is no photo. Maybe, you are talking about the 88’s, but not after it. Have you seen? I have not.
” Pashinyan also noted that the NSS website is bilingual in this modern world: only in Armenian and Russian and it is not available outside CIS due to linguistic restriction. He reminded that on August 31, 2012, at the National Security Council, Serzh Sargsyan referred such a question to the former NSS Head, Gorik Hakobyan, “Gorik Gurgenich, come to see me after the session, I have a special assignment for you. It is related to the release of Ramil Safarov.” Pashinyan asked whether NSS was able to implement this specific assignment or not. Arzuman Harutyunyan did not reply, saying that this issue is not a part of the discussed issue.
