June 17,2016 12:04

On June 16, at the court of the First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative District continued the proceeding of Nishan Asatryan’s case. Recall that Nshan Asatryan was charged with a crime that he deliberately has hampered the implementation of the powers of Anush Mkrtchyan (a journalist of “Liberty” radio station) when covering the process of the referendum on the RA Constitutional amendments. Judge Artur Mkrtchyan gave the last word to defendant Nshan Asatryan but he refused, stating that he has nothing to add. The court left the room for consultation and returned with the verdict. According to which, Nshan Asatryan was found guilty and was charged a fine of 500 thousand drams as a punishment. Note that accuser Gevorg Gevorgyan had claimed the court to impose a fine of 600 thousand drams against Nshan Asatryan.
