Few days are left for the historic visit of Pope Francis to Armenia. As we know, on June 25, His Holiness Pope will visit Gyumri and will offer a service in the central Vardanants Square. In the meantime, Gyumri is engaged in large-scale preparations: they are assembling the tabernacle for offering the service, all the streets along which the Pope must walk are renovated. A large number of pilgrims are planning to come to Gyumri to attend the service, more than 3000 people were registered still 2-3 months ago. According to the Media Department of the Gyumri City Hall, Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan is planning to donate the Pope a silver pitcher Mushurba (a jar, which gurgles when drinking water). It has become the symbol of Gyumri in recent times and all the foreign high-rank guests are donated a pitcher Mushurba.
