“The latest official letter of the National Security Service cannot be explained otherwise but a change in the leadership, which was connected with the outcome of this lawsuit,” – said Artak Gevorgyan’s lawyer, Tigran Safaryan, to the reporters after the verdict announced by the court of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts regarding the lawsuit on the cardboard tank. He noted, “We have stated our opinion about the filed criminal case from the very first day that we do not see a judicial perspective and during each phase, we were thinking that the case will be dismissed. The qualifications laid by the fact on the grounds of accusations were just ridiculous.

The publication of the letter of NSS during the previous court session meant that the state institution that allegedly Artak Gevorgyan had hampered reports that there was no crime in his actions and no one has obstructed them.” During the previous court hearing, the judge Gagik Poghosyan had presented the letter received from the NSS, according to which the NSS does not welcome such behavior of the citizens but the committed action has not disrupted the routine work of the NSS and no serious disturbance was caused to the staff, consequently, they do not consider it appropriate to attend the court trials.

Note that a member of “Counterstrike” group, activist Artak Gevorgyan, on December 10, 2015, had hit the gates of NSS with a cardboard tank and he was accused of “obstructing the routine activities of the employees providing a security service in the building and of causing a sense of fear with them pertaining to the property protection.” Note also that the accuser denied the proposed accusation and by the court decision, Artak Gevorgyan was found not guilty. The court’s decision was unexpected for Artak Gevorgyan, after the announcement of the verdict, he told that he did not think the court would recognize him innocent, “It seemed to me that they will declare me guilty so that no one now and onward would dare even go closer to the gates of the National Security Service.” Artak Gevorgyan told that when he had hit the iron gates of NSS with the cardboard tank at midnight, no one has come out of the building, neither at that time nor even an hour later because he thinks that the employees were asleep.
