On June 27, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Bridget A. Brink, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia.
Welcoming the guest, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia commended the high level of friendly cooperation between Armenia and the United States, stressing that in recent years through joint efforts a progress was reached in bilateral relations, which creates large opportunities for the further enhancement and expansion of cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Bridget Brink mentioned that the United States highly appreciates the partnership relations with Armenia and is interested in their further deepening. “I am glad to once again be in Yerevan to discuss the Armenia-US cooperation agenda issues, list of which gradually expands. We will reflect on the deepening of the Armenia-US business and trade ties, activities aimed at implementing reforms in the electoral processes ahead of the elections scheduled in Spring of 2017 and the latest developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the mediatory efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs,” stressed the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State.
The interlocutors touched upon the perspectives of the development of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and the United States, exchanged views on the activities of Armenia-US Council on Trade and Investment and the Armenian-US Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation.

Foreign Minister of Armenia and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State discussed steps being undertaken towards the creation of relevant conditions for the resumption of negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
