The Azerbaijani authorities have announced a plan to blacklist a former US ambassador to Armenia, John Evans, for a recent visit to Nagorno-Karabakh.
Speaking to Contact.az, a Foreign Ministry representative, Hikmet Hajiyev, said they consider the move as an attempt to exacerbate the situation, reports Artsakhpress.am.
Mr Evans has also been criticized for maintaining close contact with the Armenian National Committee of America. “When an ambassador in Armenia, he abused authority, expressing pro-Armenian positions,” says the website.
