“Armath” engineering laboratory opened in the Artsakh Information Technologies Center with the support of “Ucom” company and the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) on July 7.
“Artsakhpress”reports that the Director of the Artsakh Information Technologies Center Narine Astsatrian welcomed the participants and noted that it is the opening of the first engineering laboratory in Artsakh.
“Engineering education and its application in the economy and business is the way, which will bring great achievements for our country.
Within a few years, we should provide the schools of Artsakh with engineering laboratories. As the result, which is expected to register during this program, is huge. April events proved once again that the development of engineering education in Artsakh is demanded,” she said.

The Deputy Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises Hayg Chobanian noted that the “Armath” engineering laboratories have been installed in 130 communities of Armenia and schools and the 131th one today was opened in Artsakh. “This is an important event, which has no alternative, because today IT is the world’s most rapidly developing sector and the required direction.
“We want to have such laboratories in all communities of Armenia, to triple the volumes of technology sector,” he added.
Children get good skills in 4-5 years by participating in various projects and having rest in various camps,” said Chobanian.
Chobanian said that the project enables practical support for the integration of qualified IT-specialists into the Armenian and world markets, the exchange of the experience between them, and the attraction of large-scale investments into the IT-industry. It is noteworthy, that the software and assembly drawings of the labs-developed equipment are open to public. The computer programs and systems are “armenianized” to the extension possible, while during the project implementation for the acquisition of the equipment and software, the priority is given to the local producers, the bright example of which serve the high-quality three-dimensional (3D) printers, mini-computers, robotics kits and other devices produced in Armenia.
The Director of “Ucom” company said that the company has always been and will be in such education sector.
“Getting engineering education, I highlight the importance of the engineering education in Artsakh and Armenia. This is very important for the future of our country. We have great potential in this area The pupils will further be able to use their knowledge for the development and building of our country.”said H. Yesayan.
The honor of the opening of the newly created Engineering Laboratory was given to the children of IT center.
Minister of Economy of NKR Andranik Khachatrian was also present at the event.
