On July 11, Tigran Mkrtchyan, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Armenia to Lithuania handed over the credentials to Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania.
During the tête-à-tête meeting, following the ceremony, President Grybauskaitė congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment and wished him success. Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed hope that Ambassador Mkrtchyan will actively contribute to the deepening of bilateral relations and expressed her readiness to support the Ambassador during his mission.
The Lithuanian President underlined that Lithuania is interested in increasing its presence in the Armenian market.
Expressing gratitude for the reception and for the readiness to support during his mission, Ambassador Mkrtchyan stressed that Armenia is interested in further deepening, expanding and strengthening of relations in all areas of cooperation of mutual interest with Lithuania.

The prospects of success of Armenia-EU negotiations were also discussed during the meeting. Ambassador of Armenia presented the negotiation process on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to President Grybauskaitė. President Grybauskaitė underlined that Lithuania supports the peaceful settlement of conflict.
On the same day, Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Petras Zapolskas, Director of the Department of State and Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, on the occasion of handing over of the copies of the credentials.
Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, Director Zapolskas wished him success during his mission and expressed hope that Ambassador Mkrtchyan would contribute to further deepening of friendly relations between Armenia and Lithuania.
