On July 15, Tigran Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Lithuania had a meeting with Linas Linkevičius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
During the meeting Ambassador Mkrtchyan underlined the high level of bilateral relations with Lithuania, adding that one of his agenda purposes would be to further deepen and develop them, increase Armenia’s visibility in Lithuania. Armenia’s Ambassador lended importance to cooperation with Lithuania on multilateral format as well, including in the frames of the EU, NATO, OSCE and others.
Minister Linkevičius highly commended the dynamics of bilateral relations’ development, especially in the economic sphere, in that context emphasizing the activities of the intergovernmental commission and mutual financial investments.
Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan presented to Minister Linas Linkevičius the process of Armenia-EU negotiation process, noting that the negotiations are conducted based on the existing experience and on the reciprocal willingness to further deepen the relations.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, steps to be undertaken for creating appropriate conditions for the resumption of negotiations. Minister Linkevičius said that Lithuania supports exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
