In these days, one of the prominent representatives of the so-called “Yugoslav black wave”, a Serbian film director and screenwriter Želimir Žilnik is in Yerevan. Recently, at the meeting held in the office of the Armenian General Benevolent Union, the artist drew parallels between Armenia and his homeland, “There was a war in Yugoslavia too like in your country. It is both similar and different from your Karabakh conflict. We have a lot in common with your country: we are a former Soviet Union country, we are Christians, we have a small film market,” said the artist. He stressed that there are still many things to shoot a film: the poverty and unemployment are rising again, people have a problem with giving their children to an education, “This period too is full of stresses, insecure and rich with intrigues.”
