“Don’t hit, I’m turning off my phone”, Maxim Sargsian detained

More than 10 young people were detained today near regiment of the police patrol and inspection service.  Police press service refused to provide clarification. In the question of Aravot.am Police press service answered that after an hour they will provide official information.

Among detained citizens were member of “No to Plunder” initiative Maxim Sargsian, daughters of the member of “Founding Parliament” Garo Yeghnukian, daughter and wife of the member of “Founding” Parliament Varuzhan Avetisian.

In the interview with Aravot.am advocate Hayarpi Sargsian said that it is more than an hour that Maxim Sargsian is detained, but they cannot find out where is he. The advocate said that Michael Nazarian, who was taken into custody more than 30 hours, is already released.

Mihran Avagian a friend of Maxim Sargsian told Aravot.am that when Maxim was being detained they were talking on the phone. And he heard how Maxim Sargsian was saying: “Don’t hit, I’m turning off my phone”.

A group of armed men from an opposition group called “Sasna Tsrer” stormed a district police headquarters in Yerevan early in the morning. As a result one policeman was killed. At the moment they are holding 5 police officers as hostages.
