The court issues a decision to arrest Ararat Khandoyan, the brother of “lonely wolf” Arayik Khandoyan (in the photo). He is punished with imprisonment by Criminal Code, Article 225, part 2 on attending mass disorders. His lawyer Ara Gharagyozyan has told this to Aravot.am. Note that Arayik Khandoyan – the “lonely wolf” – is one of the members of “Sasna Tsrer” group that has entered the territory of the Patrol-Sentry Service regiment. “I believe that the decision on arrest is illegal. Ararat has transfer me to tell the reporters that he was arrested for his political views and for his brother as he has not committed any illegal action. And the court when sentencing an arrest, judge Marine Melkonyan has not justified why he should be detained, which means that the substantiate suspicion is missing,” – said the lawyer.
Ara Gharagyozyan emphasized that Ararat Khandoyan has health problems, “There are some shell splinters in his body and he has got a concussion during the war, which has deteriorated caused by this tense situation.” The lawyer said that his client was not allowed even to use the right of one call, for which Ara Gharagyozyan is going to apply to the Ombudsman. The lawyer told us that today he is going to appeal the court decision, “The arrest is illegal, I need to pass this to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.”
