The Office of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender commented on the situation in Erebuni Medical Center, where the police officers denied the meeting between the wounded members of the armed group and their relatives.
To remind, earlier, the Police reported about an armed incident at night in the territory of the seized patrol police regiment, when two members of the armed group received bodily injuries at the response shooting from the police officers, with subsequent hospitalization.
The statement refers to the relatives of the injured gunmen Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan stating they were denied a meeting with the patients without any justification. Furthermore, according to the complaint, the gunmen were denied a meeting with the lawyers as well.
“With this regard, the Office of the Human Rights Defender urges the Police officers stationed at Erebuni Medical Center to present grounds for their actions to the relatives of injured gunmen with relative clarifications,” reads the statement, adding, otherwise “the Police actions will be deemed as groundless and unacceptable.”
