Sterility of political system

July 29,2016 12:47

The armed group’s attack on the Patrol-Sentry Service, as I understand, pursued the following political objective: it was to be the so-called “Aurora’s” gun volley for the revolution. According to the idea, hundreds of thousands of people inspired by the armed occupation of the police building were to go out to the streets and claim for the President’s resignation. And then, on the street, under the control of the militants, an interim government would be formed, which would lead us to democracy and prosperity. This was the plan of the “political wing” of the armed group if we put the fedayeen rhetorical aside.

Why it is not fulfilled at least for now. It seems to me that for the same reason, which the “armed people” decided to take everything into their hands and by “destroying the internal Turks” to determine the fate of Armenia because of sterility of the political system. These hundreds of thousands of people just driven by the sympathy for the militants will not come out to the street. They do not come out driven by the extreme discontent about the situation in the country or by the hatred even for the authorities and will prefer to pour out their rage on the Internet. People will come out to the streets for political demand only in the case when the political forces who enjoy their confidence will lead them. And “Sasna Tsrer” cannot promote it by their campaign because you cannot create this system by the machine-guns, it is very subtle and at the same time very laborious daily task.

Do we see these political forces in the tribunes of Liberty Square or Khorenatsi Street? It seems like, not. There are of course very good and very nice people there who sometimes make very precise speeches but they do not represent a force as they are not endowed by the system of political views, which must awaken the sense for the common task and the common goal in those who are gathered there.

The remaining flaws: seizing the microphone from each other’s hands, saying controversy things, the unconvincing tactics of “let’s go here, let’s go there,” handing over the microphone to random people, at the same time, “scolding” the media, all these are consequences. The reason is the absence of systemic thinking.

Certainly, the government is to blame here too, which was reluctant to hold fair elections over these 21 years, while the political system is created and refined through elections. In all other cases, the passion dominates. In this case – very dangerous.
