On July 30, Republican MP Samvel Farmanyan was going in and out of the intensive care unit at the “Saint Gregory The Illuminator” Medical Center” visiting the citizens beaten up by the police and wounded by the explosions of grenades. While the police officers dressed in plainclothes were banning the family members to see their aggrieved children, friends and relatives.
In the hospital, Aravot.am asked Farmanyan about his assessments on the events. In response, the MP said that now it is not the right moment for giving assessments, “There should be an examination, which will answer these questions in proportion. The use of brutal force is unacceptable.” We reminded Farmanyan that the Republicans say, “The Armenian should not shoot at the Armenians”, the NA MP said, “Shortly after the April war, what we currently have does not do honor to our nation, does not stem from any interest of the Republic of Armenia and does not generate from the interests of strengthening our state grounds. My wish is to re-dominate peace a day earlier and the accumulated questions are resolved through peaceful negotiations. The use of weapon and violence, irrespective by whom: the police, protesters or rebels or deputies, is not the right way to advance the statehood.”
To our question of whether the ruling Republican Party MP is aware of whether negotiations are still going on between the Patrol-Sentry Regiment occupied “Sasn Tsrer” members and the authorities and what stage they are in, Farmanyan said, “Now, I’m interested in one thing: to follow and understood the health state of the wounded citizens.” Zhirayr Sefilyan has issued a statement from his place of confinement, according to which the talks have failed, and the RA President Serzh Sargsyan insists that the meeting with Sefilyan will take place after laying down the weapon. Sefilyan insists that he must first of all meet with the members of the group, “I must first meet with the guys and only then to meet with Serzh Sargsyan and only then the guys will lay down their weapons. I keep insisting on my position.”

Note that it is already fourteen days since people are protesting on Khorenatsi Street in defense of “Sasna Tsrer” and for the sake of the fact that the authorities solve the problem without bloodshed. Note that during these critical days, the politicians and the community are calling on to convene an extraordinary session of the National Assembly. The signature of 44 parliamentarians required to convene NA MP Nikol Pashinyan’s extraordinary session of the National Assembly failed. The Republicans, including Farmanyan, refused to sign to solve the problem peacefully.
The parliamentarian said in this regard, “Each of us: be it a parliamentarian, a reporter or an ordinary citizen, has its own opinion about what happened or is happening. In the created situation, in some cases, the expression of own opinion cannot be helpful to the peaceful solution of the situation. Today, the only and number one agenda issue is the peaceful and bloodless solution of the situation thru negotiations.” NSS has divulged a statement, warning that if the members of the group do not surrender, the law enforcers will open fire.
