The emotional background in Armenia during these two weeks was strongly active, therefore people naturally have begun to be offended of each other. The radical part of my friends “eagerly” want to convince me that seizure of the Police Patrol-Sentry regiment building by force, killing people and taking a hostage is a good, positive, even heroic and chivalrous conduct, and that the assassinated is not assassinated, the hostage is a hostage and the regiment is not a regiment. Since no one in the world can convince me of it, people get offended and say, “We will not make friends with you anymore”.
Other, smaller and conservative part of my friends is trying to convince me that “Sasna Tsrer” guys were guided by some “dark forces” and the purpose of those forces is the destruction of our statehood. I also do not agree with it, although I am sure that any external force will try using any situation driven by its own interests. But the basic reason for the protest of “Sasna Tsrer” are the available actual and serious concerns in the public, which, in my opinion, are truly expressed in an unacceptable way.
There should be channels in the state for not only to express these concerns but also to serve to the point and change something. These channels essentially are closed. In such cases, a large quantity of pus is accumulated somewhere in the body, which eventually leads to an explosion. If everything goes normal, then there is no need for “surgical intervention”. But when the explosion, however, takes place, the wounds can be treated with love and forgiveness. I know that many people will not like what I said and as I do not have the problem of collecting parliamentary votes, I will also say this “unpleasant” thought.
The word “war” inside the country is unacceptable for me, be it a “national- liberation,” “propaganda” or even “value”. The police must not fight against protesters and reporters. The supporters of the authorities and the “Sasna Tsrer” should not compete over who divulges more “verisimilar” disinformation. The “Facebook Armenians” should not fight against Tigran Mansuryan or Perch Zeytuntsyan, these people do not read your swearwords, you only spoil the atmosphere. Shant and Hayk should not be sentenced to such long term and should be released a long time ago.

And most importantly, let’s not be offended of each other because of our dissension. Dissensions are our wealth.

The state is not above the law. Or shouldn’t be. We have to remember that one of the founding principals of a free, democratic country is that nobody is above the law. This includes private citizens and the state. The limits of actions of the citizens and the state is set by the law of the land. If anyone or any institution disregards and breaks those limits, they are to face justice in a court of law. That is how freedom and equality is assured in a democratic system.
If laws were broken by state’s security forces during the recent unrest, then the responsible bodies or persons must come before the courts and justify their actions based on the law.
Of course this calls for independent courts and judges. Do these exist in Armenia?
