Member of “Stand Up, Armenia!” Initiative group Andreas Ghukasyan, who remains under custody following the incidents in the course of the standoff of the seized police station in Yerevan, has announced a decision to continue the hunger strike. Ghukasyan has announces his intention in a message addressed to members of Daredevils of Sassoun group Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavlik Manukyan as well as member of Heritage party Davit Sanasaryan and others.
“I am thankful to you for the warm words, yet I consider necessary to continue the hunger strike, which is necessary; the people should continue their struggle,” reads the message.To remind, Ghukasyan, who has been on hunger strike for 20 days, was arrested on July 29 after the incidents occurred in Sari Tagh neighborhood. Ghukasyan is accused of organizing mass disorders. His attorneys have appealed the court decision of detention.
