Famous Turkish historian Taner Akcam has released a three-part book devoted to the forceful Islamization of the Armenians.
In the first part, the author talks about the impossibility of being impartially involved in examining the issue of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey, the hardships that he has faced and the government’s repressions against him.
As reports Akunq.net, in the second part, Akcam presents the biased and discriminatory discussions on the release of his Turkish version of the memoirs of Sarkis Torosian (an Armenian officer who was serving in the Ottoman Turkish army during WWI), during which Turkey launched another large-scale campaign of slander, groundless allegations and repressions against him.
In the third part, the author presents the policy on forceful Islamization of the Armenians and assimilation between 1915 and 1918 with numerous facts. Akcam views these less known phenomena as structural elements of the Armenian Genocide.
The book has been translated and prepared for publication at the Center for Research on Western Armenians’ Issues.
