In connection with the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh Republic proclamation President Bako Sahakyan signed decrees on awarding with state awards and conferring honorary titles.
According to the decrees for bravery and courage shown during the defense of the NKR state borders and combat actions for the defense of the Fatherland 7 individuals were awarded with Battle Cross order of the 1st degree, 1 individual with Battle Cross order of the 2nd degree, 9 individuals were awarded with the «For courage» medal, 267 individuals with «For service in Battle» medal, one of them posthumously.
A group of state, public and political figures of Artsakh, Armenia and foreign countries, active participants of the Artsakh national-liberation struggle, freedom-fighters, diplomats and philanthropists were awarded with state awards. Eight individuals were awarded with «Grigor Lousavorich» order, one of them posthumously, 18 persons were awarded with «Mesrop Mashtots» order, 11 individuals with «Mkhitar Gosh» medal, 16 individuals with «Vachagan Barepasht» medal, 12 individuals with «Anania Shirakatsi» medal, 78 persons and 4 organizations were awarded with «The Gratitude» medal.
For substantial contribution to the development of science, culture, art, health care and economy the NKR honorary titles were conferred to a group of people.
