“Currently, there is a resettlement of Syrian Armenians in Artsakh but not in massive which is necessary for the relocation of Artsakh with the help of Syrian Armenians. This issue could be resolved as a result of the correct policy,” – said historian Edik Minasyan at the press club “Pastark”.
He stated that Turkey continues to pursue an active policy in the region, in particular by acting against the Kurds in Syria, but Syrians are being killed as a result of these actions. The once thriving Armenian community in Syria ruined in the last five years. In Minasyan’s words, Turkey is always next to Azerbaijan when solving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and it does everything possible to remove the Armenian issue from the field of vision: “It is possible that as a result of the Russian-Turkish partnership, Turkey will reach the point to ensure its participation in the negotiations. It depends on the prospects of Russian-Turkish rapprochement. At the same time, I doubt because this means a weakening of Russia’s positions.”
