Van Fortress included in UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List

The Fortress of Van has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, Turkish media  report.

Besides the Fortress of Van, 9 historical and cultural monuments and areas of Turkey have been included in the list. UNESCO Turkish National Commission President, Professor Ocal Oguz said that there are 16 cultural areas in Turkey in the World Cultural Heritage list, including Ani.

Turkey submitted the application  to UNESCO on April 13, 2016.
