The judicial system and the prosecution cannot be separated from the ongoing legal, social, political and economic reforms in the Republic, Prosecutor General candidate, Artur Davtyan said during the first hearing of the autumn session of the National Assembly, presenting his plan.
“These processes, which gained special impetus through the constitutional amendments last year, require new approach in law enforcement sector and particularly in the organizational issues of prosecution. It is noteworthy that the new Constitution guarantees the independence of the prosecution including it in the branches of the leadership,” he said.
According to Davtyan, the prosecution has been and remains a reliable pillar of the state, strengthening its legitimacy among crime prevention and human rights protection, ensuring fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens.
He noted that much work had been done in the judicial field. However, in constantly changing society the demands in this field are continuously increasing bringing new problems that need solutions.
