“Today, we have freedom of expression, though we are far from our dreamed reality,”- said human rights activist, Vardan Harutyunyan, being invited to the discussion at the “Media Center”, referring to the human rights defense in Armenia in the context of the 25th anniversary of Independence.
According to him, the presidents of our country should have one sentence in their pre-election program – not to hamper in the establishment of human rights, “If the government does not hamper, this sector will develop. The more it is developed, the fewer are the leverage to our authorities who cannot tolerate the freedom of others.” Back to “Sasna Tserer”, our speaker said, “You cannot enter the politics with a weapon, it is the government’s monopoly. Not worth shedding blood for it. Weapon never brings positive changes. There is a risk of recurrence, do something to avoid its recurrence.”
