Newly appointed Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan started to demonstrate exactingness on the very first session and has already begun to acquire the reputation of a super prime minister. To our question of whether this is for the pre-election period, or Karen Karapetyan can have the level the freedom to be audacious, NA “Heritage” faction MP Zaruhi Postanjyan replied, “I do not think that he can be so skilled and so strong to be able to be so permissive. But he tries to make his approaches public. The fact that he is granted such powers and opportunities, it is seen from his behavior but to what extent he will be successful or not, time will tell.”
Ro our observation that all prime ministers when selected always say that the rules of the game will change and everything will be fine, Zaruhi Postanjyan responded, “The rules of the game are not changed by the statements. The rules of the game are changed through the introduction of a new system. The system that will contain mechanisms of counter balance and restraint, must also contain a control mechanism. In this case, no such system operates in Armenia. Everything subdues to one person. If a few years ago, this one person was only the President of Armenia, now, this one person has been changed and has become the President of Russia. These regulations are issued thru the Kremlin.”
