Within its one year of presidency in the PACE, Pedro Agramunt, President of PACE, consistently limits Armenian delegate Naira Zohrabyan’s possibility of delivering speeches. At least, this is what Naira Zohrabyan explains Mr. Agramunt’s stance and her statement made today, “Mr. Agramunt has told the Head of the Armenian delegation, Hermine Naghdalyan, in an open text that he does not like my lexicon and the use of insulting words in my speeches. In his opening speech, the PACE President referring to me directly stated that there are parliamentarians who voice obvious insults in their speeches addressed to some PACE member countries and me personally,” – explained Ms. Zohrabyan in an interview with Aravot.am, adding that during the discussions, she is at the end of the list for her turn to make a speech.
Hence, Naira Zohrabyan stated that Pedro Agramunt is engaged in arbitrariness and breaks the law by attributing the right thereto to even edit some extracts from Naira Zohrabyan’s speeches posted on the PACE website. The PACE President has personally informed this to the Armenian delegation. “When in the July session, I was calling the Azeri a biped animal for slaughtering an Armenian soldier during the April war, it greatly insults the feelings of Agramunt and he removes this paragraph from my speech and then posting on the website of the Assembly,” – said our interlocutor, adding she considers this as a brutal violated by Pedro Agramunt of his powers in the PACE. Naira Zohrabyan states that she will use all possible legal means to fight against Azerbaijan’s lobbyist Pedro Agramunt’s arbitrariness and violations.
