On the morning of October 10, President Serj Sarksian had a meeting with members of the Board of Directors of the Armenian Assembly of America in New York, as reported the press service of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors addressed the issues on the agenda of pan-Armenian importance, the priority activities of the Armenian Assembly of America, the dynamically growing Armenia-U.S. relations and the opportunities for further strengthening and deepening of those relations. They also exchangedviews on current international issues, the challenges facing the Southern Caucasus, the current stage and existing objectives of the process of negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the refugee issue caused by the ongoing military operations in Syria. In that context, the RA President and the members of the Board of Directors of the Armenian Assembly of America discussed issues related to the Armenians of Syria, as well as the support that the Republic of Armenia and various Armenian organizations are providing to the friendly people of Syria devastated by the military operations.
Serj Sarksian also answered questions from the participants of the meeting and talked about the process and perspectives of Armenia’s economic development and the expectations from the new government of the Republic of Armenia.
Within the scope of the working visit to the United States, the President will participate in the Armenia Investment Forum in the evening.
