“Aleppo has become a “hostage” insurgent in the hands of “Al-Nusra”. The danger that jeopardizes the life of our compatriots is too real,” – said Orientalist and Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan at the meeting with the journalists. He recalled that by the UN assessments, the situation in Aleppo in the next two months will be deteriorated, “Most importantly is to save the lives of our compatriots. We cannot exclude that in the near future a large-scale attack will take place in the section of Aleppo, which is in the hands of the insurgent. Therefore, we must ensure the removal of our compatriots.”
According to Ruben Safrastyan, a collision of US and Russian forces may also occur in Syria, which may lead to unpredictable consequences, “It is not excluded that if the situation in Aleppo may be escalated, and we will witness a dangerous level of the US actions. While Russia’s actions are aimed at maintaining and strengthening Assad’s positions. If the “Al-Nusra” rebels keep Aleppo in their hands for a long time, the Syrian crisis will deepen.”
