Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian issued a statement on the occasion of the French Senate vote to criminalize the public denial of the Armenian Genocide.
“We welcome the French Senate adoption of the legislation criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide, the country’s National Assembly earlier passed,” the statement reads, which also adds: “This is another step by France reiterating its valuable contribution to the condemnation and struggle against the denial of the genocides of the past as well as its commitment to prevent new crimes against humanity”.
