On October 14, the premiere of the video of the “Lake Van…” by beloved Istanbul-based Armenian singer Sybil was released. The author of the song is Hasmik Hakhverdyan, music producer by Andre Simonyan, the video is directed by Mariam Gevorgyan. The song was written in the framework of the program “A response 100 Years Later”, under the impression of the pilgrimage to the Western Armenia.
In an interview with Aravot.am, Sybil mentioned that she is extremely excited with the presentation of the video, “Such a thing happened here for the first time, because my video clip was showed here for the first time, earlier in Turkey, I had not given a premier in this way, my songs were broadcast on TV, they are everywhere on TV. It was very good. Watching the song on the big screen was very nice.” She said that the emotional song is a conversation with the Lake Van. In her words, this song is about all Armenians, “Lake Van has a great importance for Armenians in the world, this is a song dedicated to the Armenians around the world, and will share the longing for the Lake Van.”
The favorite singer said that music is the biggest diplomacy and the most understanding language. She recalled the project “The Melodies of Harmony” implemented recently with Andre Simonyan and Turkish musicians. “It was a project of history, and the film was screened two days ago. Everyone who was present really enjoyed … It was a very special project … In my understanding, music has no boundaries, it will win everything,” – says the singer in confidence.
