Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Permanent Representative in Armenia Bradley Busetto.
Describing as quite effective the productive ties of UN-Armenia partnership and the UNDP-supported programs in Armenia, the Prime Minister stressed the need to step up cooperation.
In Karen Karapetyan’s words, the UN has contributed to the strengthening of democracy, human rights, the rule of law in our country. The Government of Armenia highly values the years-long financial and technical assistance provided to our country by the UNDP.
The UN Resident Coordinator thanked the Prime Minister for appreciation, assuring that the United Nations is ready to support Armenia’s further development.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the “2016-2020 UN-Armenia development assistance framework” and “Bavra, Bagratashen and Gogavan border checkpoints modernization” programs, as well as on the initiatives aimed at ensuring economic growth, rural development. The parties took the opportunity to discuss possibilities of joint efforts in other fields of mutual interest.
Bradley Busetto said the priorities of the United Nations go in tune with the Government’s priorities, and may be supplemented as necessary.
Stressing the importance of having clear-cut directions for further partnership, Prime Minister Karapetyan assured of his readiness, as head of government, to back the activities of the UN Office in Armenia as much as possible.
