Ombudsman of RA has several observations over the project presented by the new government, which he presented to the government. “We are talking about the most effective protection of the rights of specific groups, women’s and children’s rights, and reforms in the field of justice. I am concerned about the inclusion of these issues”, said Arman Tatoyan while talking to Aravot.am.
He agrees with the observation that the modernization measures in penitentiaries envisaged by the government project are belated. “As soon as possible such reform should be carried out. Penitentiaries especially need reforms”, noted Arman Tatoyan. Arman Tatoyan also informed that soon he would present a document embracing the necessary reforms in penitentiaries, “”Medical services are of first importance in the penitentiaries, and it does not refer only to the “Prison Hospital”. The issue is about ensuring medical services and their quality increase in all penitentiaries. Currently we are working to present appropriate proposals”.
