October 28,2016 22:00

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) welcomes Arnette Nazanee Topian as the new Development Director at the Assembly’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“Nazanee’s background and experience will help further advance the Assembly’s mission by leading development initiatives and by expanding membership, especially as we mark two important milestones next year, the 40th anniversary of the Terjenian-Thomas Assembly Internship Program and the 45th anniversary of the Assembly’s founding,” stated Assembly Executive Director Bryan Ardouny.

Topian brings broad experience in fundraising for non-profit organizations both in the U.S. and Armenia. These include international humanitarian organizations such as the Armenia Fund in both New York and California, Feed The Children, and Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). While at CBN, she worked closely with Holy Etchmiadzin to provide educational programming for the Armenian Church in Armenia.

In addition, Topian served as the Resource Development Delegate to Armenia for the International Federation of Red Cross in Geneva, Switzerland. The project – a joint program with the American National Red Cross – trained the Armenian Red Cross to move toward financial self-sustainability.

“It is an honor to have this opportunity to be a part of the Armenian Assembly of America as it continues its non-partisan advocacy work in the nation’s capital to advance key Armenian American issues. I am grateful to work with this organization dedicated to the betterment of Armenia and Armenian diaspora,” Topian stated.

Earlier this month, the Assembly welcomed Mariam Khaloyan as its Development and Grassroots Associate.

Established in 1972, the Armenian Assembly of America is the largest Washington-based nationwide organization promoting public understanding and awareness of Armenian issues. The Assembly is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt membership organization.
