The cabinet has made amendments to the list of the countries, which are offered e-visa facility to visit Armenia. According to the amendments, the Armenian visa will be issued electronically for the citizens of China.
One justification for the amendment is that the country has seen drastic increase of arrivals from People’s Republic of China over the recent years.
As Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated on Thursday in 2015 an increase of up to 70 percent and 80 percent for the five months of 2016 from China was registered as compared to the same period last year.
According to another justification, due to the geography, citizens of China face certain difficulties to reach the capital for the visa, while the employment of the e-visa application will ease the situation and further promote the growth of the citizens wishing to visit Armenia.
