“My husband’s father, Levon Tariverdiyev, was from Artsakh…”

Widow of composer Micheal Tariverdiyev, Mrs. Vera confirms that she is a daughter-in-law of an Armenian. The international festival concerts entitled ”Remember This Moment” and dedicated to the 85th anniversary of a famous Armenian composer, Micheal Tariverdiyev launched in Moscow in July, then went on in Yekaterinburg, concerts are planned in Yerevan, Stepanakert, then in Tbilisi. The series of the concerts will be finalized at the end of November again in Moscow.

Widow of the composer, president of ” Micheal Tariverdiyev charitable foundation, Vera Tariverdiev told ”Aravot” about this. She noted that there would be two concerts in Yerevan; the first program would have only the organ music of the composer, in the other one the composer’s works written  in other genres, including  excerpts from opera, soundtracks, and others  will be performed by the interpretation of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia (conductor Ruben Asatryan) and Russian and Armenian singers.

Mrs. Tariverdiev who established ” Micheal Tariverdiyev ” foundation in 1999 said also that the Yerevan concerts were the result of the cooperation of the Ministries of Culture of RF and RA and National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. The ”Ros Concert” concert- tour union also supported the realization of the project.  ” In the framework of the festival ”Organ +” festival was also launched at the end of September in Svetlogorsk, its concerts have already taken place in Kaliningrad, Bagratinovsk, and some days ago in Yerevan,” noted our interlocutor.

To our interest whether Armenian musician get involved in the previous and future concerts, Mrs. Tariverdiev answered,  ”Of course, yes. We invite musicians not only from Armenia but also musicians from the Diaspora spread around the world. For example, for this series of concert we have invited guest soloist of ”Opera Dolce” and Big Theatre, soprano Nina Minasyan, awardee of international competitions, soprano Hermine Zaryan, opera singer, baritone David Babayants…I do not know whether I should uncover a secret at the moment or not…Organist Tigran Brutyan who at the time was dropped out from the competition, today is studying in the USA thanks to our foundation. The experts of the foundation select very strictly, in this case the participants of the organ So, Tigran is a highly cultured musician.”

The composer is an author of almost 130 soundtracks including “Seventeen Moments of Spring”, ” The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath”, “Hey, who is there”, etc, as well as of many theatrical performance.

We are sure that in case of Michael Tariverdiev there will also be compositions that he did not manage to listen to during his lifetime. Mrs. Tariverdiev answered,

– By and large those are three- “Figarenko’s Marriage” opera and “Girl and Death”, “Girl on the Ball” ballets. The negotiations for presenting the mentioned compositions to the audience has started but I cannot say anything at the moment.”

During the conversation Vera Tariverdiev recalled and detailed Tariverdiev concerts taken place in Yerevan and Artskh. To our question whether it is correct that In Artsakh people say your husband is their son and you, consequently, their daughter-in-law, our interlocutor replied,

“So, it is indeed. My husband’s father, Levon Tariverdiev, was from Artsakh…”.
