“We have strategic ally Russia that sells weapons to the enemy of its ally,” said Head of the “Modus Vivendi” Center Ara Papian during the meeting with journalist at the press club ” Hodvats 3″ on November 3. He emphasized that Russia sells Azerbaijan offensive weapons, and such weapons can raze Yerevan to the ground.
-“Now, it is negative or not? Of course, it is negative. And all that are fairy tales that they will buy from others if not from Russia. There are only several countries in the world that produce such weapons, and secondly, let them buy from others.”
To the observation that there is an opinion that Russia is our ally and we can know what they sold, Ara Papyan answered,
-“Those people do not have basic knowledge that according to the Tashkent Agreement on Adaptation adapted in 1990, each year in Vienna both we and Azerbaijan present in detail all the types and quantity of the weapons we have bought. There are special observatory mission that go and check. Thus, saying that in the 21st century we will know what they bought, is a fairy tale. ”
