“Trump will be the president or Clinton, the US will go forward by its own interests. And the US has explained for far that it has several interests in the region, in global sense they are three’ oil problems, stability issues and spreading democracy. Based on these three issues the approaches of the Americans will be elaborated,” today in the conversation with Aravot.am while interpreting Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections said Tevan Poghosyan, Deputy of the “Heritage” party.
The Deputy reminded the assessment of the US Ambassador to RA, that it does not matter how the presidents in the United States change, the foreign policy changes maximum by 20 percent. and Trump can bring new changes only by 20 percent;
“I do not believe that there can be a question of huge and serious changes. There are people who express concern that Trump has good relationships with Azerbaijan. By realizing this, we should carry out such a flexible policy that will form a comprehension that in order to ensure the American interests in the region, the Armenian interests should be taken into account. In any way in the Karabakh issue there will be the Minsk Group Co-Chairs, thus the US side will not make individual decisions.”
Tevan Poghosyan said that we should develop such economy so that the American investments would be based not on the Diaspora but they should be beneficial for different American businessmen. These all are our homework. He said that we should do huge work, we should be proactive, propose new approaches and eventually we would come to the point when the Armenian interests would be taken into account.

He said that in order to understand the American society, one should realize what they could get tired of, what they could strive for, what they had been pressed for.
“Till the last day according to different American experts, Clinton was the leader. It was based on the surveys and other researches. But, in fact, they all were deceptive.”
He said that we should learn lessons from all these and understand that the choice of the US people should be respected and we should carry out such a policy so that the Armenian interests would not be ignored, we should strengthen our backbone.
“American based on its interests work with those who are strong and can neglect the interests of the weak countries”.
As it is known after the announcement of the election results Clinton rang up Trump and congratulated him. According to Tevan Poghosyan;
“It is pity that we do not have this culture here. I will be happy if this culture is formed here too. The election system should inspire such trust that the defeated side calls and congratulates, and the winner should realize that he should take into account the number of all those votes that the other side got.”
