Armenia-Belarus consultations on information provision of foreign policy took place in Yerevan

On November 10, consultations on information provision of foreign policy between the respective departments of the MFAs of Armenia and Belarus took place at the MFA of Armenia, according to the 2016-2017 consultations’ schedule between the Foreign Ministries of the two states. The Armenian and Belarusian delegations were headed by Tigran Balayan, Spokesperson of the MFA of Armenia, and Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Department of Information – Press Secretary of the MFA of Belarus, respectively.

During the consultations, a comprehensive discussion was conducted on the established cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the sphere of information.

The sides touched upon issues related to the MFAs’ activities in the sphere of information, exchanged thoughts on practice of work with the local, regional and international media.

The agenda of the consultations also focused on the use of contemporary information technologies and MFA’s engagement in social networks, the existing problems in that sphere and steps being undertaken to overcome those problems.

The cooperation between the information agencies of two countries aimed at raising awareness among the population was specifically outlined.

In the context of discussions on information awareness of the priority of the presidency of Belarus in CSTO, the Armenian side, upon the request of the guests, presented the peculiarities of information activities implemented during the Armenian presidency.
