Another Racist Note Left on The Wall of an Armenian School in Istanbul

November 16,2016 11:05

Another racist note has appeared on the wall of one of the Armenian schools in Istanbul. As reported Agos Weekly, this time the racist note was written on the wall of the Mekhitarist Armenian School located in the Bomonti district of Istanbul.

Former deputy representing the major oppositional People’s Republican Party Aykan Erdemir informed about the racist note after he posted a photo of the wall of the school on which the following was written: “One night we will suddenly appear in Karabakh.”

Let us mention that this is not the first attack against Armenian schools in Istanbul this year. In August, racist notes were left on the wall of Surp Khach Dprevank Monastery of Skyutar, and another racist note was left on the frontal of Galfaian Armenian School in Skyutar in September. Months have passed, but it is still unclear as to who left the racist notes.

Even the Turkish Mejlis has considered the issue. Deputy of the People’s Republican Party Sezgin Tanrikulu had sent a letter to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, but hadn’t received a response within the defined period.
