November 16,2016 20:00

“Armenian underscores the deepening of friendly relations with Moldova,” RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Eduard Nalbandyan noted during the joint press conference with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur.

He informed that during the meeting with the Moldovan colleague, they have discussed various issues of bilateral and multilateral agenda, as well as urgent international and regional issues.

E. Nalbandyan mentioned that four documents have been signed between the two countries, namely agreements on the abolition of  visa regime between Armenian and Moldovan citizens, cooperation in the spheres of tourism, education and science, as well as the 2017-2018 program of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Andrei Galbur noted that the discussions have been held in the atmosphere of  mutual understanding and trust.

“We share the same opinion that it is importanat to promote dialogues between Moldova and Armenia in all the spheres of mutual interest, namely this refers to the promotion of trade and economic relations, expanding trade volumes,” he noted.

The Foreign Minister noted that in 2017 the first session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Moldova will be held.

In response to the question whether some changes in the Moldovan foreign policy can be expected regarding the new president-elect, he noted: “I do not think that some abrupt changes are to be expected in the country’s foreign policy. Our policy directed to the European integration does not contradict the process aimed at establishing constructive ties with our partners in Moscow. I think the approach will remain valid during the ruling time of the president-elect.”
