Funding a new enterprise is one of main issues for the European Union, and that requires much work through different foundations, Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for the European Neighborhood Policy stated at a press conference on Thursday at the end of the 8th Eastern Partnership Informal Ministerial meeting held in Yerevan.
Commissioner Hahn highlighted the reforms in the state administration and justice sphere to ensure more transparency and subsequently, contribution to the economic development. In the Commissioner’s words countries may attract more small and middle sized investors when those will see an independent and a quality judicial system.
Johannes Hahn next attached importance to the energy and transport links which necessitates the construction of roads and railway.
Deputy Secretary General of European Union External Action (EEAS) Jean-Christophe Belliard, present at the press conference, stressed that EU countries attach importance to Eastern Partnership in a way it is important for the six EaP member states.

“We believe the European Union may serve a bridge for the EU 28 members states from one hand and the six EaP countries,” said Jean-Christophe Belliard.
To note, the informal Eastern Partnership dialogues are held twice a year and hosted in turn by the Eastern Partnership countries. They allow for an open, informal exchange of views between the partner countries and the EU high level representatives on foreign policy and sectorial cooperation areas.
