President Serzh Sargsyan received today the EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
The President of Armenia and EU Commissioner warmly recalled their previous meeting after which, according to President Sargsyan, as well as conditioned by that meeting, there was registered a qualitatively new progression in the Armenia-EU partnership: the high-level political dialogue has become more dynamic, certain achievements have been registered. The President of Armenia viewed as important the fact that some of the issues discussed with Mr. Hahn a year ago have already become part of the bilateral agenda, including the negotiations on the legal document.
Serzh Sargsyan underlined that Armenia attaches importance to her membership at the European Partnership Program, and in recent years, within the limits of the existing capabilities, has done everything possible for the maturing and development of that format of cooperation. The President of Armenia expressed hope that on the eve of 2017 Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Brussels, the Ministerial discussions on foreign affairs and on education, science, and research issues will have their positive input into the strengthening of the cooperation between the EU and partner states.
At the meeting, President Sargsyan and Commissioner Johannes Hahn also exchanged views on the regional problems and challenges as well as the NK peace process.
